Not that we didn’t expect this but it’s still amazing! Congrats to the cast & crew! May 3, 2012 (Burbank, California) – The CW Network has given early pickups to the network’s top-rated show, The Vampire Diaries, fan favorite SUPERNATURAL, and the world’s most-famous zip code, 90210, with all three series to return for the 2012-2013 season.
THE Vampire Diaries will return for a fourth season of bloody good drama this fall, SUPERNATURAL will mark its eighth season with the monster-hunting Winchester brothers on The CW, and on 90210, the gang from West Beverly will return for season five.
Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE Vampire Diaries is from Bonanza Productions Inc., Outerbanks Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson (“Scream,” “Dawson’s Creek”), Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Private”) and Bob Levy (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”).

TvLine released a preview still of the season finale 3×22 The Departed episode that will air May 10, 2012 on The CW. We can’t wait, the flashback seems so cool!
Elena could probably use some adult guidance these days on The Vampire Diaries, so what better time for a visit from Aunt Jenna? We’ve got your exclusive first look at the fan favorite’s return in the Season 3 finale (airing May 10 at 9/8c on The CW.)
But if you recall, Elena’s former guardian is dead — RIP — so her portrayer Sara Canning will appear in flashbacks as “Elena, going through a particularly rough time, reflects back on a [period] in her life when things were much more simple,” describes executive producer Julie Plec. That means we’ll also see the young Gilbert bonding with her mom, Miranda (guest star Erin Beute, center), in the episode.

The CW released the first promotional episode stills from the upcoming episode 3×20 Do Not Go Gentle of The Vampire Diaries. Nina looks soo beautiful! Doesn’t she? WHAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER — Alaric finds an unexpected ally to guide him on his dangerous new path, while Damon and Meredith try to figure out what their next move should be. At the school’s 1920s Decade Dance, Bonnie asks Jamie to go with her and, at Caroline’s suggestion, Elena asks Stefan to be her date. Caroline is pleasantly surprised when Tyler shows up at the dance determined to sweep her off her feet, but Klaus does his best to come between them. The dance takes a deadly turn when Damon and Stefan realize they need the help of Matt, Jeremy and especially Bonnie to undo a spell that could prove devastating for everyone. Josh Butler directed the episode written by Michael Narducci.
