“I have a flat tummy, but I’m not rock hard. If I’m going to be in a bikini, I’ll train more and skip desserts for a couple of weeks. But usually, I work out to feel good. Exercising gives me endorphins and energy. I do it four days a week. I Spin with Candice Accola and Claire Holt from the show. Running is my solo time; working my muscles outside in fresh air is therapeutic. Starving to be skinny isn’t my thing. When I don’t eat, it affects my mood! On-set, I fuel up with small meals and I’m always grabbing high-protein snacks, like almonds. Chai lattes with espresso also keep me going.

I want to keep growing, so I make vision boards that say things like, ‘Learn. Excel. Succeed.’

“Using my imagination, spelling out what I want to achieve and creating a reminder of those things helps me move forward. Remembering my roots matters to me. We were on a tight budget growing up, and my parents gave so much to get me where I am. Now, at Christmas, I rent a house in the Rockies and take my family snowboarding.”

The episode was fantastic, we especially loved Elena’s memory reliving scene and also we loved how the whole episode was developed, Elena’s transition, Bonnie’s failed (but cool) attempt to save Elena’s life & finally Elena’s last moments as a semi-human! Now that The Vampire Diaries’ Elena is transitioning to become a vampire, she has another important choice to make: Will she lean on love Stefan or seek guidance from Damon?

“What people will be surprised about is that, yes, she’ll lean on Stefan, but she’ll also lean on Damon,” Nina Dobrev told TVGuide.com on the set of the show in Atlanta. “It’s almost like the triangle has been reinstated because at the beginning, there were different qualities she liked about them as a vampire and [now] there are different things she needs from each of them.”

When Season 4 premieres (Thursday, 8/7c on The CW), Elena will wake up from her coma-like state to learn that she died in the car crash with vampire blood in her system and now must complete the transition or die. (Obviously she picks option No. 1.) So how will the even-keeled teen change once she turns into the creature she never wanted to become?

“Unpredictable,” Dobrev says. “Elena is definitely going to make a lot of mistakes … and she’s going to want to rebel. I think everyone is going to be surprised by what she does.”

Nina joined Caitlin Cronenberg and Jessica Ennis’s photo + story project called The Endings. The Endings is a book of short stories told through still photographs each depicting the moments surrounding the end of a romantic relationship. Each story features an actress in the starring role. Can’t wait to read and see Nina’s story and photos! In the meantime enjoy the preview the creators posted on Facebook. Nina looks stunning!
